Dear Reader

Updated: Jun 22, 2018

Dear Reader,

‘Sup, babe. How’s 2018 treating you so far? Me, I’m taking the year a little rough. I had a sinus infection and then an ear infection, a hacking cough and, most recently, food poisoning. I’m anxious to get back to my regularly scheduled exercise program; Ally says I should work on exercising some chill but that’s never really been my style. Today, I finally made it to the gym for some light yoga and, when we set our intentions, I focused all of my energy on healing this body o’ mine.

Speaking of intentions, how’s your 2018 going? Did you set any goals?

I generally don’t do new year’s resolutions. I think its weird to measure a year from January to January. I think you should make New Year’s resolutions half a dozen times throughout a calendar year. I put more stock in anniversaries and birthdays than ball drops. But 2017 was a good year for me in terms of setting goals and getting after them. I wonder if I could’ve accomplished a few more if only I’d written them down somewhere.

I’m still coming up with new goals, enough to get me through a whole year. I think the first few weeks of the year are a warm up for the main event.

In 2018, I want to pay off my credit cards. I want to be more vulnerable. I want to write down my goals as I go, and then cross them off. I want to keep running. I want to design a font. I want to write more letters. I want to grow my shop, to digitize prints and make more things like stickers and t-shirts. I want a tattoo of a pomegranate.

I’ve got a lot of plans for 2018. Now that I’ve written a few of them down, maybe I’ll even remember them.

I’ll still have hand-painted things made with love. Letters will come on Wednesdays instead of Mondays. One thing that won’t change in 2018 is how much I love you, dear reader. You’re a gem and I appreciate you.

Warm regards,

Madelyne
